ABOUT THE DASHBOARD

The Newaygo County Area Dashboard was created from the West Michigan Regional Dashboard to establish a common set of indicators for measuring the county’s overall growth and prosperity.

When selecting an indicator, you can analyze that indicator, comparing Newaygo County’s progress over time. Indicators with GREEN in the right upper corner have improved year over year, while indicators with YELLOW or RED reflect no change or a negative trend.

To navigate within the dashboard, do not use your browser’s back button. Instead, use the navigation within the dashboard. The dashboard is best viewed on a desktop monitor. Metrics are regularly updated as new numbers become available, most of which occur on an annual basis.

Why is it important?

A coordinated measurement tool empowers the community to begin strategic change and build collective action. A common set of metrics for the county is needed to evaluate growth and prosperity. The Newaygo County Area Dashboard provides a collective approach to accurately look at economic, social, and environmental indicators to measure impact.

Relationship with Fremont Area Community Foundation

Based on the extensive work of the West Michigan Regional Dashboard, Fremont Area Community Foundation worked with The Right Place to design the Newaygo County Area Regional Dashboard.

The indicators with a blue asterisk are the metrics that directly align with the Community Foundation’s strategic goals:

  • Community and economic development (increase the workforce)

  • Poverty to prosperity (reduce poverty)

  • Education (increase college and career readiness)
